The Hammayan

Those who know me suspect that I am a bit obsessed. This could be true; there is almost no place I love to hang out more than a hammock. I like to be at concerts, or great restaurants, or having fun with my friends and fabulous family. But I do love my Mayan hammocks.
These are “not just” hammocks, but the stringy, colorful, woven (tied at the edges) comfortable and flexible beds found in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America. While some sling nylon hammocks and hop in lengthwise, these hammocks also provide comfort in what some consider sideways, or slightly askew positions. I’ve been hopping in and out of Mayan hammocks (field testing) for about 50 years.
My lovely Papa, wine maker, bee keeper, father and husband to my elegant mother, mentor unparalleled, and always, always a Chemist, built a cookbook a while ago, and I am pleased to share it with you.

I also like to chill my cheeks on occasion by camping in the Winter Sierras with the Boy Scout fathers. As an instructor for decades, I enjoy sharing my love for wilderness Winter. That collaboration can be found at OokpikSFBay.blogspot.com
I have some older work that was recently resurrected.
And yet one more writing project underway. So many projects, and all the time in the world?
